New Home, New Memories

Our builder, Michael Baudry, father of two beautiful girls under the age of 10, shares a few of his favorite memory-making ideas, including family game night and creating a height chart. Although he states, family game night may be changing into a night of house planning and designing. “The older they get, the more interested in new home construction they are,” he said. Their input was taken into consideration when designing two of our latest homes, their namesakes, in the Gulfport Oak Landing community. The “Briella” and “Bailey” homes are under construction and will be move-in ready within the next few months.

PICTURES TELL 1,000 STORIES

First and foremost, you will want to make memories while your home is under construction. Our New Home Sales Specialist will help by taking pictures during the construction process. Imagine watching your dream home come to life, one that you designed!

Another great time for photos is when the home is completed right before moving day. We all love seeing the before and after pictures on home decorating shows.  Grab your camera or phone and take photos of the rooms empty and then after you have moved in. Imagine the stories you will be able to share about moving day.

ACTION PACKED VIDEO

Put together a video of your new community as you are driving, walking, or bike riding through the area. It’s a great way to meet neighbors and look back on memories as your neighborhood grows. Another idea, do you have a new baby or puppy? How about taking their picture in the same spot every day for a year and then creating a fast-paced slide show? FUN!

FAMILY GAME NIGHT

With a brand new home, the game possibilities grow.  With new space inside and a front and back yard, the opportunity to make fabulous memories grows. Whether it be dominoes, checkers or a board game inside or a three-legged race outside, there’s sure to be lots of fun and laughter.

CREATE A HEIGHT CHART

Create sentimental memories by choosing a spot in your home to measure your children. Decide how often you would like to take the measurements, perhaps every six months to a year and watch them grow. Have the kids write their names next to each measure to compare their writing skills as well. This is a fantastic and fun way to get the little ones involved in a family project.

Have fun as you make new memories in your new home. After all, your home is your legacy.
